SUPPLIES
Make any little practice nine patch quilt comprised of 5 nine patch blocks and
4 plain blocks. Finished blocks to measure about 6". Add a 6" finished border made up of three fabrics. 3 inch light fabric, 1 inch dark, 3 inch light fabric. Your quilt top should measure about 30", or somewhat less.
What you will bring to class is a small little quilt top upon which to practice your new skills. If you have any small unquilted pieced wallhanging to work on bring that instead.
One yard of batting 100% cotton or 80/20...but no polyester battings.
Backing for your unquilted top, add four inches all around so it is larger than your top
Sewing machine with drop feed dogs or plate to cover such
Darning foot
Size 70 machine sharp needles
Safety pins
Blue washout marker
Aurifil Thread or Mettler cotton, weight #60 ecru or light shade for the bobbin
Wash Away Thread (Sulky, YLI or Superior Vanish Lite)
