#1 Supply Sewing Machine in good working order. Please bring instruction manual to class if available.

Basic: Cutting mat and Rotary Cutter with a new blade
Ruler: the best size is 6 x 24 but 6 x 12 will work
Ironing Pad or a thick towel
Iron: Note. ironing stations can be shared by up to 4 persons
Seam ripper very important
Pins: flat
Universal foot or 1/4 inch foot
Applique foot
New Needles for piecing and applique
Large eyed hand sewing needle to accommodate sewing thread for applique
Several empty bobbins
Scissors a secondary pair with a sharp point of applique side cutting scissors will be helpful
Pencil

Fabric
Background 5/8 yard if the fabric has a distinct pattern, stripes or plaid or 1/3 yard if fabric is solid or all over print
Border Block Strips 1/3 yard of each of two fabrics
Border Block Centers 1/8 yard
Large Flower Applique 9x11 scrap for flower petals, scraps of 2 prints in the same color family for embellishments
Medium and Small flower applique scraps of 2 different prints from two different color families
leaf and Stem applique scraps of 3-4 different green prints
Ant applique: small scrap of black
Sunglasses Applique: small scrap of gray, silver, anything with metallic
Balloon applique: 8x10 scrap for balloon, small scraps for balloon knot and highlight
Binding: 3/8 yard

Thread
You will need piecing and applique thread. For this class we will use the same thread in the top and bottom for applique.. bring several spools of various colors

Notions
Important: One yard of Pellon Decor Bond (mach applique technique instruction)
One yard Pellon Wonder Under of fusible or fusible of your choice
Light box or masking tape if workshop room has no outside windows for tracing purposes

Note:
Class Supply fee of $8:00 per student for pattern and applique kit to quickly learn method, pattern is discounted when purchased at workshop.
Instructor can supply Pellon Deor Bond if unavailable in your area.
